Thoughtfully designed
When creating fine jewelry, the process is as important to us as the final outcome. That’s why we’re proud to offer made-to-order engagement rings, wedding bands, and jewelry that are uniquely tailored to you as soon as your order is placed. Here’s a step-by-step look at how VRAI designs are made.
CAD Creation
Once you have selected a design, make it your own by choosing metal color, pavé details, diamond shapes, and more. These details will be saved at checkout, and our design team will create a unique computer-aided design (CAD) of your customized piece.
3D printing
Once your CAD is complete, it will be sent to our 3D printer. There, a wax mold of your design is created layer by layer over the span of a few hours.
Gold casting
Your wax mold will be secured inside a steel container and filled with an investment powder, such as plaster of Paris. It is then placed within a heating chamber, where the wax melts and the plaster solidifies. Your metal of choice, whether platinum or solid gold, is poured inside the plaster mold. As the liquified metal cools, it slowly transforms into the shape of your jewelry.
Diamond setting
After gold casting, your design is handed to our diamond setting experts. They set each VRAI created diamond, from center stones to melee diamonds, individually under 10x magnification.
Polishing
Once the design is complete, it is cleaned and polished thoroughly. The rough outer layer from casting is removed, revealing a shining platinum or solid gold surface underneath.
Quality control
After several rounds of deep cleaning, your fine jewelry design is inspected from every angle to ensure each detail is made-to-order and just right. Nothing short of perfection is accepted.
Delivery
Your design is then carefully placed inside our recyclable, reusable, or compostable packaging. For engagement rings, a diamond certificate will also be added. We then send your made-to-order VRAI fine jewelry straight to your doorstep through your preferred shipping method.
